Riet van Halder began painting in 1986 when she no longer could resist a very powerful inner force to express herself.
Careful explorations in form, colour and material eventually led to an identifiable own handwriting and recognition as Art Brut artist.Riet's works are since its opening on display in museum "De Stadshof", museum for Naïve and Outsider Art in Zwolle. Like most artists who surround her in the museum, Riet has had no formal artistic training and takes the experience of her personal reality as starting-point and source of the translation process to images put on paper. |
The museum and the people connected to it offer Riet a very strong stimulus to take new steps on the path of both the turbulent inner life as the hectic outer world.
The richness of her present life and the richness of colour and form found in her work are thus naturally balanced.Riet exhibits home and abroad, and likes to show her oeuvre in her studio to those interested. Further information:
